Iberwind is an established producer of wind energy in Portugal, operating a nationwide network of strategically located wind farms. With a total capacity of over 650 MW.

ECS partnered with other financial investors and the management team for a circa 1.0 B€ acquisition of Iberwind, through an LBO transaction. The thesis was to materialize the development pipeline of wind farms and create an extensive wind farm portfolio. During its holding period the generation capacity grew by c. 40%.

In 2015, ECS and the remaining partners exited the portfolio to a pan-Asian investor at a significant profit.
